May’s cooking class featured Resa and Abby! Resa is the one who started the cooking classes! She is a cancer survivor and wants to share heathy plant-based cooking ideas with others since God has been so good to her!
They made tofu sarciado, salad with parsley dressing, and bibingka! Bibingka is a casava cake. Everything was so delicious!
Remember, if you’d like any of our recipes, we keep them on file, so all you need to do is ask!
April’s cooking class was hosted by the Leiske family! We had Tadka dal, fragrant basmati rice, non-butter vegetables and black-bean brownies! It was a very interesting class and I was so excited about the food that I forgot to take pictures! So here are a few that were taken by someone else. I plan to try substituting the cocoa powder and chocolate chips for carob powder and carob chips. Hopefully, it tastes just as good.
If you would like any of the recipes featured at any of our cooking classes, just ask!
For February, we had a delightful brunch hosted by Abby and Resa! The menu consisted of the best biscuits, vegan gravy, mini oatmeal patties, sweet and savory diced sweet potatoes (yum), and build it yourself chia pudding! We had a wonderful time as usual with church family and our very special guests.💖
Happy New Year! Our first cooking class of 2026 was hosted by our very own Pastor Samuel Negrea! He invited Chef Melody to assist him and they both gave us all sorts of nutritional insights and tips!
Pastor Sam’s menu consisted of bread, rice, bell peppers, peas and mushrooms. Talk about delicious! And healthy! Check out the beautiful spread!
For December’s cooking class we featured Kim Wolfe! You may have seen her on 3ABN. Kim taught us how to make a plant-based holiday meal on a budget and what to do with leftovers. The delicious meal consisted of Vegan Chicken Pot Pie, Vegan Tofu Cutlets, Leftover-Mashed Potato Balls, Leftover-Green Beans and Maple Pecan Salad!
We had a wonderful time! Enjoyed having brothers and sisters from other churches and a special guest! Kim was assisted by her wonderful husband Jay. What a great team! What a blessing!

Praise the Lord, we had our first cooking class on 11/02/25! We had such a wonderful time! Not only did we learn how to make 3 new healthy dishes, but we met new people and got to know each other better! Resa gave her testimony on being a breast cancer survivor and how God impressed her to launch this cooking class. Resa and Abigail were our featured cooks with help from their family Ozzie and Josh in the background. The 3 vegetarian recipes that we learned were: Potato cheese, Pancit, and Kimbap.
Please join us for our next cooking class “Holiday Food on a Budget” by Kim Wolfe on Sunday 12/07/25 from 2-4pm in our fellowship hall. Look forward to seeing you there!
